- CB1100 final editions unveil soon
- Likely to discontinue this engine
- Haven’t updated for Euro 5
Honda is planning to discontinue the iconic CB1100 motorcycle soon. In fact, the Honda’s Japanese Twitter account recently uploaded a teaser ‘CB1100EX/CB1100RS Final Edition Coming Soon’.
This teaser clearly makes us believe that this four-cylinder air-cooled motorcycle is in its last leg and the Japanese brand is gearing up for a special send off. The rumoured final editions are likely to be limited in numbers and is bound to get lots of special treatment in the form of new paint schemes and features. Honda hasn’t updated the CB1100 air-cooled four-cylinder engine to meet the stringent Euro 5 emission norms. It looks like the brand has decided to pull a plug after almost 13 years of serving the world market. But we can expect the brand to revive this engine in the next few years.
These upcoming final editions are unlikely to come to India as it will barely do any sales in the country. Plus, Honda India is known to price their CBU models extremely high making it almost irrelevant to the market.
