- Shengshi GK350 launched in China
- Looks closely similar to the Honda CB300R
It’s not uncommon to see certain Chinese manufacturers copying designs of their products from other brands. One such example has recently been set by Shengshi. The China-based two-wheeler company launched the new GK350 street bike that looks nearly identical to the Honda CB300R.
The GK350 boasts the same neo-retro styling as the CB300R. In fact, some elements look exactly the same as the latter such as the circular headlamp with a silver bezel and long radiator shrouds. Even the fuel tank, exposed frame, and stubby tail look somewhat like the Honda. As for the chopped dual exhaust pipes sitting under the seat, they are reminiscent of the MV Agusta Brutale 800.
Powering the Shengshi GK300 is a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 39bhp of power and 32.8Nm of peak torque. That makes it considerably more powerful than the Honda CB300R. It is pretty much loaded with modern features for its size. There’s a full-LED lighting setup, a Bluetooth-enabled console, a keyless start system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Although the GK350 will never come to India, the original Honda CB300R will surely be launched in January 2022, as revealed by the Japanese brand at this year’s India Bike Week.
