- CB500 rumoured to be under development
- Trademarked in the US
- Could be made in India
Honda has been selling CB350s in India and a few other countries for years. This was developed to be a Classic 350 rival but it hasn’t affected the sales of that bike. Now, it looks like the company wants to expand this line-up.
According to a report, the company has applied for a trademark registration for “GB500” in the US. The CB350 is called GB350 in certain markets, so registering the GB500 brand makes us believe that the bike could be called the CB500 in India. But the Japanese brand hasn’t hinted at the possibility of launching a CB500 in India, even though there’s a market for it.
As of now, there are no technical details about the CB500. This motorcycle could be a 500cc single-cylinder motorcycle or it could even get a parallel-twin setup. However, the latter would increase the cost drastically, making it difficult for the brand to price it well.
We’ll have more details in 2025, and if the bike is actually happening, there’s a high chance that it will be manufactured in India.
