- NX500 India launch next year
- Will replace CB500X
- Gets new styling
Honda has decided to rename its middleweight adventure tourer – the CB500X. This bike will now be called the NX500, where the marketing term for NX means ‘New x-over’.
For 2024, the Japanese brand has given the bike a massive overhaul in overall styling and aesthetics. It gets a brand-new fascia that houses a larger windscreen and a new LED headlight unit. The size of the fairing is much larger, which is expected to give it a much stronger road presence. The taillight also gets new styling. The overall kerb weight has also decreased, as the brand has used lighter wheels. The five-inch TFT screen is new and now comes with a Bluetooth system.
The 471cc parallel-twin engine has undergone some upgrades to make it smoother, and that has been done using a crank counterweight and balancer shaft. However, the overall power figure remains the same at 47bhp. The suspension has been retuned to perform better on-road as well as off-road.
We expect Honda to launch this new NX500 in India early next year, and it will replace the CB500X. However, there’s a high chance the bike could be priced incorrectly as it did for the outgoing model.
