Last week, Honda launched its teaser campaign for the 2016 Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin by releasing two heavily shadowed images of the bike, leaving us wanting for more. Now though, greyscale pictures of the CRF 1000L Africa Twin from Honda’s design patent filed in Australia have been leaked on the internet, showing the eagerly anticipated adventure motorcycle in its full glory.
The unique aluminium frame of the CRF 1000L Africa Twin pushes the airbox and radiators to the side of the motorcycle, which has emptied the space at the front for the fuel tank, thereby significantly improving the dynamics and ergonomics of the motorcycle. The pictures reveal that the new Africa Twin will ride on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-incher at the rear.
Though Honda hasn’t revealed a lot of technical details of the CRF 1000L Africa Twin, reports suggest that the 1,000cc parallel twin engine will churn out around 110bhp, and is likely to use a 270-degree crank with twin balancer shafts, to improve the power delivery. It will be available with an optional DCT semi-automatic transmission. The CRF 1000L Africa Twin is expected to be unveiled later this year as a 2016 model.
