- Honda CRF300L spied
- Gets a dual-sport styling, 296cc motor
- No word about India launch
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India had filed patents for the CRF300L in India a while ago and now, the dual-sport motorcycle has made an appearance at a dealership in the country. And with the entry-level adventure bike market starting to boom in India, it seems like the right time for the CRF300L to be introduced.
Now the CRF300L sports a proper dual-sport styling with a slim and minimal bodywork that includes a flat seat, high-set handlebar and under seat exhaust. And underneath this is a 296cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that it shares with the CB300R. However, the unit on the CRF300L churns out 27.3bhp and 26.6Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Hardware is off-road focused too with a 21/18-inch spoke wheel combo and Showa suspension at both ends with 260mm travel. Adding to that, the ground clearance is an impressive 244mm while the seat height measures an accessible 830mm. But to top it off, the CRF300L weighs in at 138kg which is a whole 20kg lighter than the Hero Xpulse 200.
While its features list is the bare minimum, it suits the Honda CRF300L’s purpose. You get ABS, an LCD dash and a 7.8-litre fuel tank as standard. The CRF300L is an extremely interesting proposition however, whether or not it would be launched in India anytime soon is unclear. Well, Honda is scheduled to launch a new product on 8 August. However, it is unlikely to be the CRF300L whose India launch timeline is still unclear. What would it be? Stay tuned to BikeWale to find out.
