Honda’s internationally popular mini-bike, the MSX125 or Grom has received significant updates for 2016. These include changes to the styling, speedometer console and the exhaust.
The new MXS125 features twin LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, and taillamps. The motorcycle now clearly displays the street-fighter character Honda is going after. The top half of the motorcycle has been restyled to have an aggressive design and sharper, more angular lines.
The Grom gets a newly designed shorter underslung exhaust. Moreover, it also gets an aircraft type fuel tank lid and a flip-key to add to its funky characteristics. The instrument cluster on the motorcycle now features a digital speedometer, rpm gauge and fuel indicator making it a fully digital console.
The air-cooled 125cc engine will provide for a power output of 9.7bhp at 7,000rpm and a torque figure of 10.9Nm at 5500rpm. In terms of dimensions, the mini-bike has a low seat height of 765mm and wheelbase measuring just 1200mm. It’s available in four colours: ‘Matt Axis Grey Metallic’, ‘Pearl Himalayas White’, ‘Pearl Valentine Red’ and ‘Lemon Ice Yellow’.
The new MSX125 was recently launched in Thailand (the manufacturing country) for THB 70,500 (Rs 1.35 lakh).
