- Powered by the same motor as the Africa Twin
- Currently sold only in Japan
- Could be patented to reserve the name
The HondaHawk 11 cafe racer has been patented in India. It’s currently only available in the Japanese market and here’s what we know about the new neo-retro offering from Honda.
The Hawk 11 gets a thorough neo-retro bodywork with its round LED headlight neatly tucked inside the Monza fairing. It features low-slung clip-on handlebars aiding the sporty riding position. The latter is complemented by a pair of rear-set rider footpegs for a fully tucked-in posture. Overall, the Hawk 11 seems quite neatly put together.
It uses the same engine as the Africa twin – a 1,082cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor with the output rated at 102bhp and 104NM. That’s a marginal bump over the ADV twin’s power figures. Honda offers the Hawk 11 with either a six-speed gearbox or a DCT. It features a single-pod LCD housing the speedometer, odometer, gear-position indicator, fuel level bars, and more. Honda has suspended it on USD front forks and a monoshock setup while the braking hardware comprises dual front and a rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The setup is mounted on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.
As of now, Honda has only patented the Hawk 11 for India. And it could be for the sake of reserving the name with no concrete intention for a launch. For reference, it’s priced at JPY 13,97,000 (approximately Rs 8.67 lakh sans taxes).
