- Rebel 1100T touring models to be launched soon
- Gets front fairing
- Available in manual, DCT versions
Honda is readying two touring variants of its famous Rebel 1100 cruiser. This development was revealed through a leaked California Air Resources Board document.
According to this document, the Japanese brand will launch two new variants – Rebel 1100T and the Rebel 1100T DCT. While there’s no direct confirmation from the brand regarding this variant, a ‘T’ suffix makes it quite obvious. The company will offer this touring model in the manual as well as in DCT options.
The Honda Rebel 1100T will get its power from the same 1084cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 87bhp and a good amount of torque. In terms of cycle parts, the T model will have most of it from the standard cruiser, but some things will be added to differentiate it from others. The same document revealed the increase in kerb weight – possibly due to the addition of fairing.
It looks like Honda wants to go against the Harley-Davidsons which has a significant share in this space. With Honda having a proven engine and reliability, it could spoil the American brand’s party to some extent. Sadly, this bike won’t come to India as the company doesn’t sell the Rebel series in the country.
