- Overall sales grew by 3.95 per cent
- Exports witnessed a substantial drop
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has released its sales report for the month of October 2022. The company dispatched 4,49,391 units last month including 4,25,969 units in India and 23,422 units exported.
That’s a mild year-on-year growth of 3.95 per cent in overall sales (domestic and exports combined) which stood at 4,32,229 units in the corresponding month last year. However, it’s worth noting that exports witnessed a significant drop, going down from 37,584 units in October last year to 23,422 units in the same month this year. On the flip side, the growth in domestic sales was substantial and Honda attributes it to the increased buying sentiment amongst customers, mainly due to the festive season.
On a different note, Honda might be working on entering the lucrative small-size adventure tourer segment in India with the XRE 300. The motorcycle was spotted undergoing tests in India last month alongside the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS. It was believed to have been going through benchmarking. As of now, the India launch timeline of the Honda XRE 300 isn’t confirmed but you can read all about it here.
