- First teased in April of this year
- Official sketches reveal more design details
- Could be powered by the existing 745cc motor
Back in April, Honda teased the Hornet Concept for the first time. And now, the brand has released some official sketches which reveal quite a few design bits of the upcoming streetfighter.
The official sketches show that the Hornet concept gets a very sharp and aggressive bodywork. It also gets long tank extensions with the radiator shrouds placed directly below. The rear profile appears equally intense if not more, courtesy of the pointed tail section.
Honda could likely power the Hornet with its existing 745cc parallel-twin motor from the NC750X (sold overseas). However, it won’t be a surprise if there’s a bump in the power/ a different state of tune to suit the Hornet’s demeanor.
Expect Honda to equip the bike with premium hardware for the suspension, braking setup as well as the tyres. Not to mention, using a twin-cylinder motor will also aid the Japanese bikemaker in keeping the manufacturing cost low as compared to when opting for a four-cylinder motor.
With the official sketches out, Honda could reveal the production-ready model sometime by late this year or early 2023.
