Honda has reported a seven per cent drop in domestic two-wheeler sales in October 2017 as compared to October 2016. Despite this, the Japanese manufacturer has retained its position as the second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country.
Domestic sales of the company dropped from 4.7 lakh units in October 2016 to 4.37 lakh units in the last month. This is quite surprising, as the festive season in October usually witnesses the big players report record numbers for the year. For Honda however, September was a big month with sales of over 5.69 lakh two-wheelers. The export number was the silver lining, which jumped from 21,879 units in October 2016 to 29,004 units in the last month thus marking a growth of 32 per cent.
As of now, all four manufacturing facilities of Honda are running at full capacity. The company is planning to launch a new scooter, called the Grazia, on 8 November. Dealers have started accepting bookings for the Grazia for a token amount of Rs 2,000.
