Honda sales grows by 4 per cent in June 2017

HMSI (Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India) records an overall growth of four per cent with 4,44,713 units sold in June 2017 over the 4,27,222 units it sold in June 2016

The company’s domestic sales for both motorcycles and scooters grew by 2 per cent with 4,16,498 units sold last month over the 4,07,979 units sold in June last year. The manufacturer’s scooter sales were registered at 2,71,017 units as compared to 2,65,361 units in June 2016. Honda’s motorcycle sales grew from 1,42,618 units sold in June last year to 1,45,481 units in June 2017. HMSI’s export numbers also grew by 47 per cent with 28,215 units exported in June 2017 as compared to the 19,243 units it exported last year in June.

The Honda Activa, along with it being the highest selling model for HMSI, is India’s largest selling automatic scooter. Honda also has a popular commuter motorcycle in the form of the CB Shine which retails for ₹ 57,912 (ex-showroom Mumbai). It accounts for the most number of motorcycle sales for the manufacturer. HMSI also launched its most inexpensive offering, the Cliq which retails at ₹ 44,079 (ex-showroom Mumbai)
