- Honda registers a total sale of 2.34 lakh units
- Exports increase by 168 per cent
- Recently inaugurated new Big Wing showrooms
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced an 11 per cent increase in sales for June 2021. The manufacturer sold a total of 2.34 lakh units last month against the 2.10 lakh units in June 2020.
Out of the total number, 2.12 lakh motorcycles and scooters were sold in India; a significant increase from June 2020’s 2.02 lakh domestic sales. On the other hand, Honda also witnessed a massive, 168 per cent growth in exports. The company sold 21,583 units overseas last month as opposed to 8042 units in June last year. While there is no denying that the Activa 6G and the Shine continued to rake in numbers, the H’ness CB350 and CB350RS also have a hand in the sales growth.
The two motorcycles which have been recently introduced in international markets are built in India. While the design and engine are the same, the international spec CB350 range gets different tyres and colours. Moreover, Honda also seems to be focusing on its 350-500cc offerings by inaugurating new Big Wing showrooms across the country in June 2021.
