- Honda commences 250cc engine manufacturing in India
- Will be exported to developed markets
Honda India has commenced engine manufacturing in its new factory in Vithalpur in Gujarat. This new facility will manufacture 250cc and above engines for the international markets.
Honda India, however, refused to reveal the details of the engines and the bikes it will power. According to the company, this new facility has been setup to meet the global demand in markets like Thailand, Europe, US, Canada, Japan, Australia and Gulf.
Honda claims to manufacture close to 50,000 engines in the first year and will eventually scale up the production capacity depending on the global demand. This new manufacturing development is a result of India’s BSVI emission standards in line with global ones. This has helped Honda to make international products in India.
