Honda to reintroduce the Transalp adventure motorcycle

According to international sources, Honda is planning to relaunch the Transalp which was originally launched in 1987 and discontinued in 2012. If relaunched, the motorcycle will sit below Honda’s Africa Twin as a middleweight adventure motorcycle.

The patent drawings of the upcoming adventure middleweight show the complete outline of the motorcycle. In terms of appearance, the bike appears to have classic adventure motorcycle styling with scantier side fairings. This is one of the major tell-tale signs of it having a connection with the Transalp.

The source also isn’t sure where this model will sit in the current line-up as Honda already has the new 1000cc Africa Twin and the 750cc NC750X. There is a possibility this new bike will be a more off-road focused option alongside the NC750X. There’s also been talk of the new model being considered for a hybrid engine, which would certainly give it a special place in Honda’s model range.
