- First BS-6 Honda to be unveiled on 12 June
- Will get fuel-injection
- Could be a 125cc scooter
Honda will unveil its first BS-6 two-wheeler in Indian market on 12 June. The company has sent an invitation which says ‘Please hold a pin drop silence’.
While the tag line connects more to an electric two-wheeler, Honda says this new product is all about a quiet revolution. A few weeks ago, we talked about the next-generation Activa that is under development. However, this product is likely to debut next year. So for the 12 June unveil, we can rule out the new Activa. There’s a high chance that the company would either reveal a new 125cc scooter as Honda hasn’t being doing well in that segment. While the Grazia had a good start, the launch of the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Suzuki Burgman Street made the Grazia go down the sales list.
We are expecting this new two-wheeler will be feature loaded, and even connected. So things like Bluetooth connectivity along with some smartphone support could be featured in this product. But the most important aspect, fuel-injection will be seen on this Honda.
We believe Honda will launch this scooter as we get closer to the festive season. The pricing should be a bit at the premium side.
