Honda trains more than 6,000 people on safe riding

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has revealed that it trained over 6,000 visitors about the importance of safe riding at the 34th India International Trade Fair. Conducted at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, in November, the ‘Lifetime Safety Education’ session was organised by the Japanese manufacturer in association with Delhi Traffic Police to raise awareness about road safety.

Under this safety education initiative, Honda organised various programs and training sessions to help people understand the necessity for road safety. Young riders were given training on Honda CRF 50 models which were imported from Japan, to help them understand the importance of safety riding. The training was conducted on a specially designed environment at the venue.

The program also had a riding trainer who guided riders above 16 years of age around more than 100 possible dangers which you can encounter in the real world. This training is also provided at all Honda exclusive authorised dealerships across the country.

Over the duration of two weeks, Honda claims to have trained over 6,000 adults and 2,000 kids under this initiative, at the IITF. The company also has a special directive called ‘People Come First’ under which it treats safety of people as an integral part of all its business activities.

Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, VP, sales and marketing said, “Road safety is the topmost priority at Honda and as a responsible corporate firm we would like to inculcate this in the society through various such activities. India International Trade Fair is a great platform to reach out to a wide audience and for the last seven years we are trying to ensure that the message of road-safety percolates further into the society.”

Customer centric initiatives like the ‘Lifetime Safety Education’ help raise awareness about road safety in a digestible format, and also helps the brand increase its exposure among the masses. Training riders at a young age will not only help them become better riders when they grow up, but will also reduce the number of accidents that happen on our roads.
