- Gets two new colour options
- Remains unchanged mechanically
- India launch not on the cards
Honda has unveiled the 2023 edition of its small-wheeled monkey bike, the MSX125 Grom, at the ongoing EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The new model year comes dressed in two new paint schemes namely Splendid Blue and Matt Dim Gray Metallic. The older red paint scheme will also continue to be on sale.
Honda has kept the design of the Grom unchanged and that is justifiable considering it’s unlike any other two-wheeler on sale. It looks profoundly quirky with petite dimensions which makes for an ideal recipe for young riders who want a fun yet accessible two-wheeler. It’s also pretty light with a kerb weight of 103kg. Visually, the new grey colour variant, in particular, looks radical with funky graphics and golden wheels.
Powering the MSX125 Grom is a 125cc, two-valve, air-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and produces 9.5bhp at 7,250rpm and 10.5Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Coming to the hardware, the monkey bike rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with premium USD forks and a monoshock. Bringing it to a halt is a 220mm disc up front and a 190mm rotor at the rear. Furthermore, the list of features comprises an LCD dash, LED headlamp and tail lamp, and single-channel ABS.
The 2023 Honda MSX125 Grom will go on sale in the international markets soon. However, it won’t come to the Indian market in the near future due to the lack of demand for such bikes here.
