- Honda’s 350cc adventure scooter in the pipeline
- Type approval documents leaked
- Will be called the ADV350
Honda is reportedly working on a very interesting 350cc adventure scooter model. It is likely to be called the ADV 350 and it will be the third member in Honda’s existing adventure scooter family that comprises the 745cc X-ADV and the ADV150.
Honda had filed trademark applications for the name ‘ADV350’ and has recently received model type approval in Europe. The documents related to the approval have been leaked online, revealing a couple of specifications of the scooter. Going by the details, the ADV350 will most likely be based on Honda’s existing Forza 350 maxi-scooter, mainly in terms of engine and chassis.
The upcoming scooter will be powered by a 330cc, single-cylinder engine with automatic transmission. This motor is capable of producing around 29bhp of power at 7,500rpm. The dimensions including its wheelbase, length and width are marginally larger than the Forza’s. The ADV will be also slightly heavier than the Forza 350. In terms of design, expect it to retain the rugged design of the X-ADV and the ADV 150.
The Honda ADV350 will be mainly targeted at the European and the US market. Although it might come to certain Asian markets as well, the chances of it entering the Indian shores are pretty slim.
