- Honda working on multiple bikes
- Will take on Royal Enfield
- First bike launch in 18 months
The world knows that Honda is working on a motorcycle that will take on the Royal Enfield. But it looks like the Japanese maker is working on not just one but multiple bikes.
According to a report, the first product will be out in the next 18 months. A separate business division will be established as the company is betting big on 300cc-500cc range of motorcycles. Honda plans to setup showrooms dedicated for premium bikes across 22 locations with 100 outlets. The company has already launched Big Wing chain of showrooms in selected metro cities. Currently, these showrooms sells Honda’s premium motorcycle starting from the CB300R and goes all the way till the Goldwing.
There’s still no information on the exact nature of these motorcycles, but we are expecting it to be like a traditional cruiser like the Triumph Bonneville. In order to price it competitively, these bikes are likely to be powered by a single-cylinder motor, but will have styling that is bound to attract a lot of buyers.
The company is planning to export these bikes to other markets post 2023. We are expecting a concept version to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
