- Big four join hands
- To develop swappable battery tech
The big four – Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki have joined hands to make electric two-wheelers more affordable and accessible.
These Japanese motorcycle firms have teamed up to jointly design and develop swappable battery tech that will be used in the future. The idea behind forming this alliance to develop a battery that can be swappable, will have the same size, weight, durability and safety features. Through this route, this alliance believes that it will be able to make EVs more accessible and acceptable. It will also take range anxiety out of the picture as the batteries can be just swapped at the nearest swapping centers.
As per some rumours, all four firms are working on their own prototypes that will use this swappable battery tech. We believe electric scooters will first make their way to the market, followed by motorcycles.
