-It is Honda’s first BSVI compliant two-wheeler
-To be powered by a 125cc, fuel-injected engine
-Will get features like LED lighting and digital display
Honda is scheduled to unveil a new scooter in India tomorrow. This scooter will be the manufacturer’s first BSVI-compliant two-wheeler.
The manufacturer was spotted testing the scooter a while ago. While the scooter was clad in camouflage, it did reveal a few details. Firstly, the scooter seems to follow the design of the immensely-popular Activa with a shapely front mudguard and sharp creases all around its bodywork.
The scooter sported a semi-digital instrument cluster and is very likely to get a full-LED headlamp. However, the test mule also sported an engine kill-switch; a first for the manufacturer’s scooter line-up in India. The Honda BS6 scooter will be powered by a 125cc, fuel-injected engine. While the power figures are unknown we expect it to produce somewhere around 9bhp. The scooter is also expected to ride on telescopic forks up front and get a front disc brake as standard.
Nevertheless, all of the speculations will be put to rest once Honda unveils the scooter in India tomorrow. Once launched, the Honda BSVI scooter will compete against the BSVI-compliant Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the TVS Ntorq 125 in the country. As for pricing, it will demand a premium over the Activa 125 which is priced at Rs 64,733 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
