Honda is planning to enter the world of two-wheeler EV sometime next year. In fact, the company says that they will have an EV by within next financial year.
According to a report, the Japanese brand is in the process of commencing testing at ARAI. However, the same report mentioned that this EV could be the Benly, which is a commercial vehicle. This product is unlikely to come to India as the company would have to first address the consumer personal mobility space first.
Honda has commenced discussions with local suppliers for this product. It believes this product can also be exported to other countries from India to make full use of economies of scale. As of now, there is no additional information on this two-wheeler, but we believe it could be a product from an international market tailored to fit the Indian specifications.
