- Husqvarna electric scooter image leaked in a document
- To be based on the Bajaj Chetak electric
- Production expected to begin from 2022
Bajaj is working on a more powerful version of its recently-launched Chetak electric scooter, as we had reported last month. Now, we have got our hands on a leaked document which comprises of a picture of the same scooter. Although it will share its platform with the Chetak, the electric scooter will be sold under the Husqvarna brand in India.
The leaked document reveals that the Husqvarna e-scooter will pack performance on par with 125cc petrol-powered bikes and scooters. The maximum rated power output has been mentioned between 4-11kW which indicates that there will be more than one version, with varying performance figures.
The image also gives us a hint about its sporty styling. It is too early to make presumptions about the design as the final model might undergo a lot of changes. However, considering Husqvarna’s traditional way of designing its products in a modern way, the electric scooter will definitely look futuristic, as opposed to Chetak’s retro-inspired design theme. Furthermore, the feature list will also comprise of modern gadgetry such as a fully-digital instrument cluster, full-LED lighting, riding modes, ABS and other safety aids.
The Husqvarna electric scooter will be manufactured at one of Bajaj’s factory which is likely to begin by 2022. Interestingly, a KTM electric scooter is also expected to be in works, which will share the same e-Chetak platform and will be produced at Bajaj’s facility.
