- Spotted testing overseas
- Could be powered by a KTM-sourced LC8 motor
- India launch unlikely
Husqvarna could revive the Nuda supermoto very soon as one of its test mules has been spotted. The test bike despite wearing heavy orange parts is indicated to be a Husqvarna over a KTM and here’s what we know about it.
The upcoming Husqvarna Nuda 901 gets cosmetic and mechanical revisions over its predecessors. The wide fuel tank with large shrouds makes for a decent proportion of the visual mass of the bike. It gets a typical single-piece seat with a side-mounted exhaust. That said, the entire frame has been left exposed but it could change for the production model with the addition of more panels around. Meanwhile, the headlight unit resembles to the previous gen model, thereby giving the bike the same identity as before.
We expect Husqvarna to borrow the KTM 890 Duke’s LCD motor. It makes 121bhp and 99Nm in its current state for the Austrian streetfighter but could be tuned differently for the supermoto offering. Even the radiator grill looks extensively larger than what its KTM siblings get. So, the cooling department should be well looked after. Other equipment like USD front forks and dual rear shocks along with the dual front and single rear disc could also be shared from KTM.
The test mule features probable 17-inch alloys wrapped in road-biased rubber. It could also feature rider aids like traction control, ride modes, ABS, and more for added safety.
As of now, the bike seems to be in its early stages of testing and it would be a while before the final product breaks cover. That said, we don’t expect Husqvarna to bring it to India.
