Husqvarna Motorcycles has unveiled the all-new Svartpilen 801 in global markets. The motorcycle is Husqvarna’s take on a scrambler-inspired streetfighter.
The Svartpilen 801 features a minimalistic yet unique styling that is inspired by a scrambler-like design philosophy. The slim bodywork combined with the striking colours and LED lighting create a distinctive look. The motorcycle gets a 14-litre fuel tank, which is wrapped inside a unique-looking tank cover.
Replacing the Svartpilen 701, the Svartpilen 801 ditches the single-cylinder thumper in favour of a twin-cylinder motor. The KTM 790 Duke-sourced, 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor pumps out 103.25bhp at 9,250rpm and a peak torque of 87Nm at 8,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. And, if the 790 Duke is anything to go by, the Svartpilen 801 will be one heck of a hooligan.
The chromium-molybdenum tubular frame and the minimal bodywork have resulted in a dry weight of 181kg. It gets top-notch cycle parts such as WP Apex USD forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping and a WP monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability.
Feature-wise, the Svartpilen 801 gets lean-sensitive cornering traction control and cornering ABS. Then, it also gets three selectable rider modes - Street, Sport and Rain, while the ‘Dynamic Pack’ unlocks the custom Dynamic mode. What’s more, you also get anti-wheelie control, cruise control, and Motor Slip Regulation. In the US, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is priced at USD 10,899.
