- Will be based on the KTM 890 Duke
- Expected to be launched on 5 March
- Will be powered by an 889cc motor
Swedish bike maker Husqvarna Motorcycles has released a teaser of the upcoming Svartpilen 901 ahead of its launch in Europe. The motorcycle will be based on the KTM 890 Duke and is expected to be launched in Europe on 5 March, 2024.
Although the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the motorcycle’s design, spy images have revealed that the Svartpilen 901 features a modern-retro styling that is accentuated by a radical-looking fuel tank with protrusions, large round LED headlight with a stubby visor, and minimalist rider and pillion seats. The motorcycle gets a composite subframe, which is a part of the bodywork.
The Svartpilen 901 will be running the KTM-Husqvarna derived 889cc, parallel-twin engine, which also powers the KTM 890 Duke R and the Husqvarna Norden 901. This motor delivers an output of 121bhp and 99Nm in the 890 Duke R. It will be paired with a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
The Svartpilen 901 will use 17-inch wheels at both ends, but unlike the road-focused tyres on the Vitpilen 901, the scrambler will use dual-purpose rubber. Once launched, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 901 will rival the Yamaha XSR 900, Ducati Scrambler, Kawasaki Z900RS, and the KTM 890 Duke R.
