India Yamaha Motor registers five per cent hike in October

India Yamaha Motors registered 4.83 per cent hike in October compared to same month last year. The two-wheeler maker sold 49,522 units last month, against 47,240 bikes in October 2011.

The sales in the domestic market rose by 2.98 per cent to 39,368 units, while a major jump was seen in exports with a double digit growth of 12.68 per cent to 10,154 units. The launch of the new scooter, the Ray, has also contributed to the overall figures.

"We are very pleased with the sales growth that we have witnessed in the past month on account of our strong product portfolio, new launch in the scooter segment with Ray and high customer confidence in us," India Yamaha Motor Director (Sales and Marketing) Jun Nakata said.
