- Manufacturing suspended at the plants in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh

India Yamaha Motor has announced that it has temporarily suspended manufacturing operations at its plans in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The temporary suspension of the manufacturing will take place between 15 May and 31 May, 2021. The company took the decision after reviewing the rising COVID-19 cases in the country.
The company has taken the step to support the fight against COVID-19 and break the chain of transmission. The company said in the press statement that it will continue to work closely with its dealers and suppliers to minimise the impact of this interruption. The company will also focus on optimisation of the stock. In this duration, the employees at the corporate and area offices shall work from home.
The company is focussing on enhancing the health surveillance, expediting vaccinations, regular sanitisation at the factory premises and workplaces, support to affected employees and their family members, and HR policies to ensure the well-being of all the employees.
Apart from India Yamaha Motor, Hero MotoCorp has also announced the extension of its temporary manufacturing suspension. Hero MotoCorp has further extended the suspension of manufacturing at its plants by one week, and the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer will resume operations from 17 May, 2021.
