A rendering of the upcoming quarter-litre rocket from Suzuki, rumoured to be christened GSX-R250, has been circulating over the internet. Based on the patent images leaked by an Australian website a few days ago, this rendering gives us a faint idea of how the Honda CBR250R rival would look like.
The Suzuki GSX-R250 borrows cues from the next-gen GSX-R1000. Featuring a majorly revamped design language with an aerodynamic full-fairing, this sportbike is seen adorning Suzuki’s racing colours, inspired by the factory MotoGP bike’s livery. We have seen a similar livery on Suzuki’s premium commuter – the Gixxer SF.
Though technical details are sparse, we expect the GSX-R250 to be based on the same single downtube frame as the Gixxer. The swingarm and rear sub frame bear a striking resemblance to that of the Gixxer. When it comes to the powertrain, we expect the GSX-R250 to house a single-cylinder engine. The engine breathes out through a single exhaust canister with twin outlets. Upfront, it gets conventional telescopic forks, while the rear wheel rides on a monoshock.
We can expect the Suzuki GSX-R250 to break cover before the end of this year, and it should arrive in India within a couple of months after that. The GSX-R250 will rival the likes of KTM RC200 and the Honda CBR250R.
