Indian government reduces petrol and diesel prices

- Central excise duty has been reduced for petrol and diesel

- Duty on petrol has been reduced by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre of diesel

- Overall, petrol price will be reduced by Rs 9.5 per litre and Rs 7 per litre for diesel

In a bid to provide relief to the common man, the government of India has reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre, respectively. In turn, this will reflect a cut down of Rs 9.5 per litre on the petrol price and Rs 7 per litre for diesel.

While this update brings a fresh breeze of relief, the current price of petrol still lies in the vicinity of Rs 105 per litre and Rs 96 per litre for diesel. So, the amount is still at a considerable high. Not to mention, these are the same prices that we witnessed in March.

The new fuel prices come off more as a stop-gap arrangement than a long term/permanent solution. That said, it makes sense for daily commuters to opt for a fuel-efficient motorcycle/scooter or incline towards electric two-wheelers with adequate range. So, we’ve prepared a list of the top 5 EVs with the most claimed range on paper.
