- Indian unveils two limited edition bikes
- Pursuit Elite is limited to just 150 units
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Indian Motorcycles has unveiled two new limited-edition cruisers – the Pursuit Elite and the Chieftain Elite. Both these bikes have received a host of cosmetic upgrades and will be sold in limited numbers.
The Chieftain Elite has a custom paint scheme and is limited to only 175 units worldwide. This makes the Chieftain one of the most exclusive bikes in the company’s lineup. It has a new graphite-spoke paint scheme and brand-new 10-spoke alloy wheels. To make it exclusive, the American brand has given it the Indian logo on the floorboards.
With the Pursuit Elite, Indian has played with the overall styling of the motorcycle. It gets graphite metallic and black metallic with bronze chrome accents on the body. The alloy wheels on this variant are new, and this bike, too, receives a special badging on the fuel tank. The Pursuit Elite will also be sold in limited numbers. The brand plans to sell only 150 units worldwide. In terms of performance, the Chieftain Elite gets its power from a 1,890cc V-twin engine that churns out 171Nm of peak torque, whereas the Pursuit Elite gets a smaller 1,768cc V-twin motor that makes more torque at 174Nm.
The bookings for these bikes have commenced in the US, but they demand a hefty price tag. The Chieftain Elite has been priced at around Rs. 29 lakh, whereas the Pursuit Elite will cost Rs. 33 lakh. A few units of these bikes would have come to India if the brand had been aggressively pushing its sales here, which currently isn’t being done.
