- Rajiv Sethu wins the PS 165cc class yet again
- Anish Shetty leads the PS 201-300cc category on day two as well
- Mikhail continues to dominate in the NSF250R class
The second day of Round 3 of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) unfolded a more gripping show as compared to the first day with riders battling out neck to neck in all the categories. Honda shone brightly once again as it fetched double victories on day two. While Honda’s Rajiv Sethu won the Pro-Stock 165cc class for the fourth consecutive time, his team-mate Anish Shetty led the Pro-Stock 200-300cc category yet again on the second day.
Following Rajiv in the PS 165cc class were Ahamed KY of TVS Racing and Sarath Kumar of Honda who crossed the finish line second and third, respectively. TVS Racing’s Jagan Kumar, who had finished third on day one, had to retire in the third lap this time owing to engine issues. However, his team-mate Ahamed achieved a podium place for TVS.
In the Novice Stock 165cc class, day two saw Venkatesan of Motomaniacz Racing outpacing everyone yet again. Meanwhile, trailing him in the second and third positions were Lokesh V and Anish Samson, both from Speedup Racing.
Moving up in the category, the Pro-Stock 201-300cc class was no different than day one as the top three spots were bagged by Honda riders yet again while the finishing order also remained unchanged. Anish Shetty, Abhishek Vasudev and Aravind B were the first, second and third to cross the chequered flag. Racing alongside the PS 201-300cc riders were the PS 301-400cc racers as well and this class was largely dominated by blokes from TVS Racing. Riding the race-spec Apache RR310, KY Ahamed and Deepak Ravikumar clinched the first and third positions while the runner up was Rahil Shetty of Sparks Racing.
The excitement in the Stock 165cc Girls category was on par with all the other races wherein Ryhana Bee of Sparks Racing emerged as a winner. Closely following Ryhana was Alisha Abdullah (Alishaa Racing) who finished second while 20-seconds behind her was privateer Nivetha Jessica who filled the podium.
Talking about the Honda’s One-Make Championships, the CBR 150 Novice and NSF250R Talent Cup were nothing short of a spectacle to watch. The CBR 150 Novice race two saw an interchange of first and second positions over the first day. The second day saw Samuel Martin pushing it harder than the previous day and finishing first, while Lal Nunsanga settled for the second position this time. Meanwhile, Deepak Kumar clinched the third spot yet again.
After winning the race one of NSF250R class, Mhmd Mikhail had a relatively slower start on day two as Kritik Habib overtook him in the first lap itself and maintained the lead. However, it was in the last lap that Mikhail turned the tables and got past the chequered flag three seconds ahead of Kritik Habib. Finishing the spectacular NSF250R race in the third position was Kaving Quintal.
The Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) will be back with an action-packed show at the Madras Motor Race Track from 6 to 8 September 2019.
