- VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) filed in the USA
- Registered for a 659cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine
- Could be unveiled at the 2023 World Ducati Premiere
Ducati could be working on a new smaller capacity engine as a VIN filed in the USA has been leaked. The file reveals the motor's cubic capacity and other details that the Italian marquee could be developing for one of its upcoming offerings.
From the leaked data, we’ve come to know that it’ll be a 659cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor with four valves. The smallest motor Ducati uses in its lineup is the 803cc air-cooled L-twin mill. But, the 659cc motor could take the spot if Ducati develops it further.
Ducati has already commenced the World Premiere 2023 and its upcoming unveiling is set to be the Multistrada V4 Rally. The Premiere will go on till November 7 revealing a list of new and updated bikes. So, it won’t be a surprise if the bikemaker takes the wraps off the new motor in a smaller offering. That said, manufacturers also register various trademarks and file different names without putting them to use at any time. So, the new engine registration could see a similar future too.
In its previous episode of the 2023 Premiere, Ducati unveiled the Monster SP. The streetfighter boasts some serious updates over the base model and is set to arrive in India very soon. Even the Ducati V4R has been spotted testing with new updates for 2023. You can head here to check it out.
