- Official UK launch to take place in early 2023
- Gets a 997cc, V-twin engine
- To be sold alongside C1002V cruiser
The Italian two-wheeler brand MBP is all set to enter India with the official announcement due to be made at the 2023 Auto Expo. While that’s a few days away, the company recently unveiled a couple of models for the UK market, including the T1002V adventure tourer.
The T1002V looks imposing with a tall and upright stance accompanied by a mean-looking front fascia. It sports a dual-LED headlamp, which looks like the eyes of a bug, accompanied by a beak-like fender underneath and a tall windscreen on top. There’s a lot of mass around the fuel tank area with beefy and angular fairing while the sleek tail section gets a sizeable luggage rack.
In terms of equipment, the T1002V is decent with a massive 21-litre fuel tank, a KYB suspension setup, and J.Jaun brakes. To help it tackle varying terrains efficiently, MBP has incorporated a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination with block-pattern tyres. Tipping the scales at 235kg, it’s not very heavy considering its displacement. As for the engine, it is powered by a 997cc, V-twin mill that churns out 95bhp at 7,600rpm and 102Nm at 6,500rpm.
In the UK, the MBP is expected to launch the T1002V in the first quarter of 2023, alongside its cruiser sibling, the C1002V. It will go up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 and BMW F850 GS. Meanwhile, its maiden product for the Indian market will be the M502N naked street bike.
