- Powered by a 700cc parallel-twin engine
- Features a radical and sporty design
- Limited to just 700 units
Scooters in India are generally looked at as commuters with utility quotient as the top priority. Function trumps form and well, prices are aggressive. But Italjet, an Italy-based scooter maker, thinks exactly the opposite. It has now launched the Dragster 700, a limited edition scooter that flaunts a very unconventional design.
Italjet has limited the Dragster 700 to just 700 units or till the last day of the EICMA. Moreover, the ultra-swanky bodywork also reminds us of the Ducati Panigale’s front end. Its front profile also includes a pair of winglets below the headlight. Then it comes with clip-on handles, a split seat setup and an exposed frame.
The Dragster 700 uses a central set 700cc parallel-twin engine that makes nearly 70bhp and 70.95Nm. On the hardware front, the Italjet Dragster 700 rides on Marzocchi USD front forks, Ohlins rear shock, and 15-inch wheels. Its braking hardware includes Brembo calippers. Italjet has also equipped the Dragster 700 with an Akrapovic end-can.
Italjet is currently selling the Dragster 700 in the European market only. Its asking price is set at GBP 10,900 (approximately Rs. 11.78 lakh) for the standard model. Then, there is a Limited Factory Edition too which demands GBP 12,600 (approximately Rs. 13.6 lakh). So, it is quite evident that the Italjet lineup is far from frugal in any manner.
