- Based on the standard Jawa 350
- Gets a fully-faired, café racer styling.
- Likely to arrive in India in the near future.
Jawa, the Czech Republic-based manufacturer has unveiled the 350 Special in Europe.
The bike is built on the underpinnings of the Jawa 350 OHC which was revealed last year. However, the Special’s styling has been inspired from the brand’s racing motorcycles from the ‘60s. It gets a full-fairing, round headlamp cowl, bar-end mirrors, dual upswept exhausts, a flat seat and a café racer-like rear section. The Jawa 350 Special sports a silver and red paint scheme and is embellished in chrome components for a retro appeal.
Powering the bike is the same 397cc, air-cooled, parallel twin engine from the 350 OHC. This motor produces 28hp at 6500rpm and 30.6Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. Braking is taken care of by a disc brake on each end along with a single-channel ABS unit. With a 17-litre fuel tank, the Jawa 350 Special tips the scales at 171kg, 11kg heavier than the standard bike.
Jawa is currently owned by Indian manufacturer, Mahindra and we can expect the bike to arrive on our shores in the near future. However, Jawa’s first product in the country is expected to be unveiled in 2019, powered by the Mojo’s 300cc engine. Once launched, the company would directly rival Royal Enfield in India.
