Jawa’s 500cc offerings have created quite a stir online; the latest being its 500cc adventure-touring model called the RVM 500. Now, this Jawa has no direct connection to the company in India and so, the chances of the motorcycle arriving in our country are slim. However, it does seem like an interesting proposition. So here we tell you all that you need to know about Jawa’s 500cc ADV.
Styling
Now the Jawa RVM 500, as it is called, is based on the Bristol Venturi 500. And it sports a relatively traditional adventure-touring styling with a ‘beak-like’ secondary fender that flows from the tank, a tall windscreen, and a large fuel tank. It also gets thick-cushioned seats, a tail rack, engine sump guard, and a crash guard that wraps around the forks as well. However, it looks similar to the BMW G310 GS with a hint of the Benelli TRK 502’s styling in some areas.
Engine
Powering the adventure-touring motorcycle is a 471cc, parallel-twin engine with liquid-cooling, similar to the one on the Jawa scrambler. This motor is capable of producing 47bhp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 43Nm at 6,500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Hardware
The Czech bikemaker has fitted the RVM 500 with cross-spoke wheels; 18-inch at the front and a 16-inch wheel at the rear. These are wrapped in dual-sport tyres from Metzeler. Meanwhile, suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down forks and a monoshock. Whereas braking is carried out by twin discs at the front end and a single disc at the rear end accompanied by dual-channel ABS.
Features
The list of features on Jawa’s 500cc adventure-touring motorcycle isn’t extensive. It comes with LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp and turn signals, dual-channel ABS and a semi-digital instrument cluster as standard. The motorcycle is also offered with a top rack and panniers as optional equipment.
