- Upcoming Jawa motorcycle spied testing
- Gets a neo-retro design with a blacked-out theme
- Could get the same engine as the Standard and Forty-Two models
Jawa’s upcoming modern-classic roadster was recently spotted testing for the first time. Although it was fully camouflaged, we could still decipher some of the details of the motorcycle.
While it carries the design ethos of the existing Jawa offerings, it does sport some distinctive elements. At the front, there’s a round headlamp and turn indicators along with a small fly screen. Although the fuel tank and under-seat panel look similar to the Jawa Standard, the rear section features a new long and swooping fender.
The spied Jawa motorcycle carries certain styling traits which make us believe it will closely rival the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The latter has been spied multiple times till now. The presence of black alloy wheels, front fork gaiters, blacked-out engine casing and exhaust hint that Jawa might be looking at taking on the Hunter 350 with this motorcycle.
The engine of the motorcycle will most likely be the same unit that does duty on the Standard and Forty-Two models. This 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor churns out 27bhp of power and 27.05Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Now, it remains to be seen if the feature list remains the same as the existing Jawas or the spied motorcycle gets more goodies.
