Kabira Mobility, a Goa-based startup has launched its first electric motorcycles called the KM 3000 and KM 4000 in India.
While the fully-faired, Kawasaki Ninja 300 look-alike costs Rs 1,26,990, the KM 4000 that appears to borrow its design from the Z1000 is priced at Rs 1,36,990. Apart from the styling, the two bikes also get different motors: the KM 3000 comes with a 6kW motor whereas the KM 4000 gets an 8kW motor.
These motors are mated to 4.0 kWh and 4.4 kWh batteries that can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 50 minutes with the Boost Charge. However, it can take up to 6 hours and 30 minutes if using the company’s Eco Charge. Now the KM 3000 has a claimed top speed of 100kmph while the KM 4000 boasts of 120kmph. The range on these electric bikes is claimed to vary from 60-120km on the KM 3000 and 90-150km on the flagship KM 4000. The feature list on these bikes includes a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster and LED lighting.
Now the motorcycles don’t have much competition except for the Revolt RV400 that is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh. And Kabira Mobility says it will sell the two models from its 27 dealers across Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. We have ridden both motorcycles recently.
