- Hybrid bike patent application leaked
- Presence of petrol and electric motors
Kawasaki – the company known to make some incredible motorcycles like the Ninja H2R is yet again planning to build something revolutionary. The company has filed patent application for a hybrid motorcycle.
This isn’t a first time some two-wheeler maker is working on a hybrid motorcycle. Piaggio had launched some hybrid Vespas a few years ago. Unfortunately, that product never enticed the buyers and failed miserably. But it looks like the Japanese maker wants to revive the idea of a hybrid motorcycle.
From the patent filing pictures, it’s clear that there’s a presence of a petrol motor along with an electric one. The latter is placed just above the transmission, whereas the battery box is mounted on the spot where we find fuel tank. The fuel tank have been placed below long single seat.
While hybrid vehicle as a concept works well for cars, it doesn’t really make sense on motorcycle due to lack of space. But it looks like that hasn’t deterred Kawasaki from creating a new technology that could power a new concept in future, if not a full production ready motorcycle.
