- Kawasaki KLR650 soon to arrive at dealerships
- Prices start at USD 6,699
- Powered by a 652cc DOHC engine
Kawasaki had unveiled the KLR650 in the US and Europe in January this year. Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, Kawasaki will be delivering the KLR650 at the customer's doorstep. Additional destination charges might be applied from the dealer's end. The company has now also revealed the retail prices of the adventure tourer, and they are as follows :
KLR650 Non-ABS : USD 6,699
KLR650 ABS : USD 6,999
KLR650 Traveller : USD 7,399
KLR650 Adventure : USD 7,999
The adventure tourer looks quite intimidating with its 871mm seat height, big 21-inch front wheel and side fairings. It gets features like a taller windscreen, LED headlamp, a single-piece seat, rear carrier and ABS as an option. It is also equipped with hardware such as a redesigned fuel tank, a new exhaust, improved chassis, integrated rear frame and a longer swingarm.
Powering the bike is a 652cc single-cylinder DOHC unit that churns out 53Nm of twist at 4500rpm. All this torque is put down via a five-speed transmission. The bike ride is handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and Uni-Trak single-shock suspension at the rear.
The Traveller and the Adventure are two more special edition variants on offer. These variants get a few more features and factory-installed accessories over the standard variants, which include ABS, DC and USB sockets, top case, side case, tank pad and fog lamps. The bikes will soon arrive at the dealerships in the US. However, its entry into the Indian market seems highly unlikely.
