Kawasaki has launched the KLX110 in India at Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new entry-level model in Kawasaki’s Indian portfolio is a lightweight dirt bike, meant for beginners and children.
With long suspension travel, minimalistic bodywork and its compact dimensions, the Kawasaki KLX110 looks like a miniature version of the KLX450 trail bike. It gets all the definitive styling cues of off-road bikes like a raised mudguard, narrow seat and fuel tank and a raised exhaust. The low seat height of 680mm should make it easy to use for children and short riders. The KLX110 rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear knobbly off-road biased tyres.
The Kawasaki KLX110 is powered by a 112cc carburetted single-cylinder engine, which churns out a teensy 7bhp and 8Nm of torque. However, considering that the bike weighs just 76 kilograms, we can safely expect it to be one hell of a pocket rocket.
It is worth noting that the Kawasaki KLX110 is not a road-legal motorcycle, which means that it can be used only on private property. As such, the bike doesn’t come with a headlamp or turn indicators which are mandatory for street bikes. The KLX110 is directly imported from Japan as a completely built unit (CBU). Being a niche product, the KLX110 is unrivalled in the Indian market.
