Kawasaki will expand its product portfolio in its home market, Japan, with the launch of the new Ninja 1000SX. The litre-class sports tourer will be launched in the Japanese market on 4 April 2020. The motorcycle is already listed on the company’s Japan website, and it has been priced at 1,485,000 yen (about Rs 10.56 lakh).
The Ninja 1000SX will be offered in three colour options - metallic graphite grey with metallic diablo black, emerald blazed green with metallic carbon grey and pearl blizzard white with metallic carbon grey. Styling cues and feature list on the litre-class sports tourer include LED headlight and LED taillight, fairing integrated front blinkers, Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch digital colour display, relaxed ergonomics and split style saddle.
The motorcycle is powered by a 1,043cc, inline four-cylinder engine that produces 139bhp at 10,000rpm and 111Nm at 8,000rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from an assist-and-slipper function and a bidirectional quick-shifter.
Other hardware on the Ninja 1000SX includes 41mm inverted front forks, horizontal back-link rear suspension, 300mm twin discs with four-piston radially mount monobloc callipers at the front and a 250mm rotor with a single-piston floating calliper at the back. The safety features work with an IMU. The electronic aids on the motorcycle include cornering management function, traction control, ABS and selectable power modes. The Ninja 1000SX also gets a cruise control system.
Buyers can opt for several optional accessories that will be available through Kawasaki dealerships. The optional extras include panniers, top-box, tinted windscreen, tall windscreen, frame sliders, low seat, rear cowl and a lot more.
