Kawasaki recently debuted its 1100 lineup by introducing the Ninja 1100SX and the Versys 110SX. In this story, we tell you all we know about the new Ninja.
Design
The Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX’s design is largely unchanged. It appears similar to the previous model, the Ninja 1000 and hence uses the same split LED headlight, transparent visor, sharp bodywork and an overall bulky appearance. The bike caters to the sport tourer segment and has now received an update.
Features
Along with the LED illumination, the Ninja 1100 SX also gets a TFT, cruise control, traction control, quick shifter, power modes, ABS, six-axis IMU, and smartphone connectivity as well. These are the same features that the older bike offered.
Engine
The most evident change on the new Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX is its engine. The bike has received a ten percent bump in the engine capacity and is now powered by a 1,099cc inline four-cylinder motor that makes 136bhp and 113Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox. But, even with a larger engine, the Ninja 1100 makes less power and torque than its predecessor.
Hardware
The new motor is housed in the same chassis as before. It is suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock while the braking duties are done by twin 300mm front and a single 260mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 190/50 rear tyres.
India Launch
Kawasaki has delisted the Ninja 1000 from the Indian website and could debut the Ninja 1100 soon. We think it could be launched here around the year-end.
