- 991 Kawasaki bikes recalled in the US - Issues with alternator - Likely to release a fix soon
Kawasaki has issued a recall for the American market. The company is recalling the 2023 editions of the ZX400 and the ZX4-RR over engine issues.
According to the recall notice, the connection between the alternator rotor and the crankshaft may loosen, which could cause the engine to stall. This connection loosens due to improper installation of the alternator rotor during the manufacturing process. 991 motorcycles manufactured between January 2023 and March 2023 have been affected.
The Japanese brand hasn't shared the process to fix this issue. There needs to be more information on how the customers could approach the service centre with their bikes. The brand is likely to release this information in the next few days; when that happens, it is best to reach the service centre on priority.
