- New Ninja 7 gets petrol, electric motors
- Churns out 69bhp
- Launch by April 2024
Kawasaki has taken things to a whole new level when it comes to going green. The brand has just taken the wraps off the Ninja 7 –a motorcycle with a petrol engine and an electric motor.
The company calls the Ninja 7 a Hybrid Electric Vehicle powered by a 451cc parallel-twin engine and a 9kW electric motor with a 48-volt battery pack. With both these power units, the Ninja 7 produces around 58bhp of power, which can be increased to 69bhp in e-Boost mode.
The Japanese brand claims the Ninja 7 falls in the 650cc-700cc segment in overall proportions but returns the fuel economy of a 250cc bike. Currently, the brand hasn’t revealed the full details of the bike. But some exciting features like the idle stop function and walk mode exist. The walk mode offers low-speed reverse and forward functions. The bike also has three riding modes – EV, Eco Hybrid and Sport Hybrid. The full-colour TFT screen has been borrowed from the Ninja e-1.
The pricing of the new Kawasaki Ninja 7 is yet to be released, and the bookings are likely to commence early next year. The deliveries are expected to begin from April 2024 for the European market.
