Kawasaki India recently launched the latest supersport offering in India, the Ninja ZX-4R. It’s also the most expensive 400cc bike that is now on sale in the Indian market. Here’s a closer look at it.
The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R looks a lot similar to the previous generation of the ZX-6R. So, it gets the same split LED headlight topped by a transparent visor and the rear-view mirrors mounted on the front fairing.
Then, there’s the muscular fuel tank and the split seat set-up. Going by the current structure, it’s clear that the rider triangle is more on the aggressive side with the low-set clip-ons and rear-set footpegs.
Powering the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is a 399cc inline four-cylinder motor that makes 75.9bhp at 14,500rpm and 39Nm at 13,000rpm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and the bike benefits from a quickshifter too.
Then, the list of rider aids for the new Ninja ZX-4R comprises ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain or Rider), traction control levels, and dual-channel ABS. Other features like full LED illumination and a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity have also been added.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R rides on USD front forks and a monoshock, while the braking hardware includes dual front and single rear discs with ABS. They are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in road-biased rubber.
The motorcycle tips the scale at 189kg and gets a 15-litre fuel tank.
Kawasaki will offer the Ninja ZX-4R only in a single paint scheme of Metallic Spark Black. It’s priced at Rs. 8,49,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and has no direct rivals.
