- Expected to be launched by late 2024
- Will be powered by a 76.5bhp 400cc, four-cylinder engine
- Will have a top speed of 221kmph
There seems to be a rising trend among two-wheeler manufacturers to develop small-capacity inline-four-cylinder motors. Kawasaki and CFMoto have their respective 400cc and 500cc four-cylinder mills. And now, QJMotor has decided to jump on this bandwagon as the company is all set to unveil its SRK400RR, which will be powered by a new 400cc, inline-four-cylinder motor.
Internally codenamed the QJ400GS-16R, the QJMotor SRK400RR will be powered by the QJ457MQ-D engine where the '457' refers to a four-cylinder motor with a 57mm bore. According to the type-approval documents, the engine on the SRK400RR will produce 76.5bhp, which is more than the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR's output of 74bhp. The motorcycle will have a kerb weight of 176kg, which is nearly 13kg lighter than the ZX-4RR's 189kg. This should offer an excellent power-to-weight ratio over its competitors.
The type-approval documents further reveal that the QJMotor SRK400RR will have a top speed of 221kmph. The motorcycle will be underpinned by a steel tubular frame and will get an aluminium swingarm. It is expected to be suspended by USD forks from Marzocchi and a rear monoshock, while the braking setup will include dual discs up front (radially mounted four-piston setup) and a single rotor at the back with company-branded callipers.
The SRK400RR takes styling cues from the QJMotor Ten78 concept, which debuted at last year's EICMA in Milan, Italy. Unlike the 400cc motor in the SRK400RR, the Ten78 concept used an MV Agusta F4-sourced 1,078cc, four-cylinder engine. As for its launch timeline, the QJMotor SRK400RR is likely to go on sale in China towards the end of this year. The motorcycle is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
